  • Chlorine and Rosé presents five drunken summers spent on the Riviera French. Images of carelessness and indolence parade with a scent strange. Drowned in a blazing sun, the gaze sways between voyeurism and obsession. Everything becomes saturated, the colors, the sounds, the smells. But something something is wrong. It is a perpetual vacation where, despite the horizon at a loss from the point of view, we suffocate under the weight of anticipation. Like when we sink in water and the pressure increases, the eardrums bend and eventually rupture. It is in some way a silent warning of events to come, both personal and on a much larger scale. Time seems to paralyze. We are at that place where the mountains abruptly meet the sea and where free divers faint. Christopher Barraja is a 25 year old photographer born in Nice. He left to study architecture in Marseille at 18 years old but, having bathed a little too long in the sun, he decides to change of scenery by continuing his studies at the École Nationale Supérieure des Decorative Arts of Paris. In the capital, he developed his practice photographic following a stroke at the age of 20 which made him more attentive to invisible things and creates a discussion with the inanimate objects of his entourage. He went on exchange to New York where he discovered his fascination with the fashion photography. Since then, he has been weaving a discourse between fashion photography and his personal practice. His work was presented at the Villa Noailles this year, as part of the Hyères festival, where he was one of the finalists. He is the winner of the 2022 Picto Grand Prix for Fashion Photography.
