De Marbre - What can we learn from a three-year visit to the labyrinth of the corridors of the Opéra Garnier? How can we take a look at a famous building that has been captured a thousand times? Photographer Vincent Desailly pushes open the back doors and slips behind the scenes of the Palais, transfiguring the most ordinary details and reviving its mythological dimension. Between past and present, materiality and abstraction, he captures the Opéra like a living organism and casts a naturalistic and romantic gaze on the institution. Photographing a ballet also means confronting the insoluble paradox of capturing movement: in De Marbre, seconds extend to the distortion of bodies.

\nTo accompany this counter-intuitive visual exploration, the novelist Salomé Kiner sets the scene outside the Palace: her original short story begins in a nail art salon and ends with an encounter, that of the narrator with a painter whose name she has forgotten: "a mixture of schlag, chagasse and racaille. Schagaille?"
