After a noun, DÉCOR in 2021, and an adjective, VULGAR in 2022, it is under the
prefix TRANS, in all its states, that places the third review of the School
of Decorative Arts. If for several decades, TRANS has benefited from a
absolute use designating a person whose biological sex, assigned to the
birth in a binary way, does not correspond to their gender identity; DECOR
proposes to explore this subject while not being exclusively focused on it
consecrated. Originally meaning, in its Latin uses, “beyond” or “
beyond", TRANS touches on fundamental notions of identity,
limit and movement and summons the process inherent in each thing. It is
this level of ambivalence, complexity and stratification that is at play in the
prefix and is found declined through the contributions of the journal.
transcoding to transtextuality, through transformation, transidentity,
transmission, transport, transversality, TRANS plays with forms,
definitions and attempts at stabilization, in as many entries.
