DORA MAAR, WORKSHOP SECRETS

Through the study and commentary of a large unpublished corpus of the artist, comprising drawings, notebooks, notes and handwritten poems, this catalog would like to shed new light on a period that is still relatively new. studied (or even hidden) of the work of Dora Maar, spanning from 1936 to 1943, during which the artist shares his life with Picasso. A set of notes handwritten, including transcriptions of conversations with Picasso will also shed light on the nature of the relationship between the two artists and the way in which Dora Maar will continue her plastic work after their rupture. The celebration of the jubilee of Picasso's death in 2023 represents a real opportunity to take a stand against the events and publications which will certainly see the light of day next year, allowing us to continue the rehabilitation of Dora Maar's graphic work initiated a few years ago years already, after the holding of the major exhibitions at the Centre Pompidou and the Tate. This catalogue will be published on the occasion of the exhibition at the Dora House Maar of Menerbes.
