ELLSWORTH KELLY - THE LOUIS VUITTO FOUNDATION NOTEBOOKS
ELLSWORTH KELLY - THE LOUIS VUITTO FOUNDATION NOTEBOOKS
Ellsworth Kelly created the stage curtain and five monochrome panels
for the auditorium of the Louis Vuitton Foundation building designed by Frank
Gehry.
Continuing his reflection on color, form, line and space,
the artist, who always wanted to create a dialogue between painting and architecture,
created a work that vibrates in space like musical notes.
This first issue of the Cahiers de la Fondation Louis Vuitton is dedicated to this
unique collection in Europe, as well as a series of paintings and prints
belonging to the Foundation's collection.
Interview with Robert Storr, essay by Ann Hindry and unpublished iconography
inscribe this in-situ achievement in the trajectory of this major artist
of the modern and contemporary scene.
