SURVEY/DESIGN CREATION

Interaction design, critical design, design fiction...: the fields of design continue to expand. In its wake, new forms of research, which Nicolas Nova designates in this essay as investigations/creations are appeared. The designer's action here aims to imagine artifacts whose purpose is to create knowledge. This approach, which borrows so much from the anthropologist, to the engineer as to the artist is analyzed through a series of examples collected by the author of design research where the creation of new objects allow us to measure, make visible, or give forms to phenomena abstract so that they can be studied.
