...and you will know the universe and the Gods
...and you will know the universe and the Gods
Read … And you will know the universe and the Gods will bring you the answers to
questions as fundamental as: Why is there something rather than
nothing? Who killed the dinosaurs? What is man's place in the kingdom?
animal? Or why shouldn't you pick your nose?
…And you will know the universe and the Gods features three divinities
bickering girls who have fun creating worlds under the benevolent gaze of
their master. One of them, Ablavar, creates the Earth and populates it with curiosities
carbon aesthetics that he calls "ani-mals". Zantek, for his part, prefers to make
mumuse with cold siliceous structures and poses as a rival. He undertakes
then to destroy the Ablavar experience from the inside by creating… the hu-man.
From atomic evolution to the tragic beginnings of humanity,
with some cosmic-biblical fights worthy of Jack Kirby, Jesse Jacobs
paints a subtle cosmogonic fable, both wildly ambitious and full
of derision. Sinuous and hypnotic, Jacobs' graphics and its two-tone
violet-blue contrasts the organic warmth of living beings with the coldness
sidereal of their creators.
