Film critic, and even more so film writer, Serge Daney (1944-1992) is an essential participant in the intellectual adventure of Cahiers du cinéma. In this first study devoted to Daney's critical work, Pierre Eugène chronologically takes up the writings to capture their flashes of brilliance and metamorphoses. Theoretical brilliance, polemical crises, evaluations wild and the obscure pedagogy of each of his texts draws a story in broken lineage, solitary and united.
