Spin the line
Spin the line
From drawing to drawing, with no other thread than a fall, an inhabited landscape, a portrait
interior, Gabrielle Piquet urges us to 'spin the line'. She invites us,
with the delicacy and humor that characterize her, to follow her throughout
of a deliciously winding path where each drawing loops but where the line,
always, continues. Between the white and the full, the drawing and the text, the said
and the unsaid, she unrolls her lines through a little more than 70
free and unpublished compositions. Here we are taken by an amused vertigo, suspended,
at the edge of each page, on this invisible thread that it holds perfectly: after
her albums, she inaugurates with this work a new exercise, that of drawing
free, where his very particular tone is expressed wonderfully.
