Folio - Folio is a collection of photographs that illustrates the birth of the
visual language of Dutch artist Viviane Sassen. All images
presented in this book were taken in the mid-1990s, when
that she was just beginning her career as a photographer. Favoring an approach
spontaneous and personal, Sassen uses her immediate surroundings and her
environment as favorite subjects. These images reflect a taste for the
staging, framing and perspective that she developed very early on. These
stylistic tools allow him to embody strange aspects, even
disturbing, at the heart of everything that seems familiar to us. Initially designed
as a book project, the work would be published years later, following the
meeting the photographer with Note Note Éditions. \n \n
