Grenoble, an Olympic modernism - This documentary and photographic project by
Lionel Catelan is interested in the sudden transformation of Grenoble, crossed
by a real architectural and artistic "shake-up" on the occasion of the Games
1968 Winter Olympics. Unprecedented in artistic ambition, with
including the organization of the first French sculpture symposium bringing together
more than twenty international sculptors, this upheaval reflects the desire of
the city to confront artists and the public with architecture and
urban developments that accompany the Games. While Paris is preparing to
host the next Summer Olympic Games 2024, this book provides a
new light on the implementation of a modernist architectural vision
unprecedented, seeking to integrate art into architecture in all its forms
(sculpture, painting, mosaic, etc.). He questions in passing the paradox of
