Sound War
Sound War
Sound exceeds our capacity for thought, it crosses all scales of the
reality and social life, and allows us to experience in advance the
threats of the near future: these are the hypotheses that he deploys in his War
sound DJ, bass music producer and theorist Steve Goodman, better known
under the pseudonym Kode 9, and trained within the Research Unit on the
Cyberculture (CCRU) alongside Kodwo Eshun and Mark Fisher. Guided by the
lessons from sound systems and raves, challenging the division between philosophy and
science fiction, he composes with this book a vast fractal fresco, which
analyzes the limits of the audible and the powers of vibration. War
sound describes how the mastery of infrabass and the occupation of space
sensory have become the stake of a secret but generalized battle.
