INVISIBLE
INVISIBLE
Throughout his sixty-year career, Franco Fontana has photographed
what we do not see, managing to fix in the lens an image "other
", detached from reality, freed from the subject represented. His work on the
geometry, proportions and composition allowed him to achieve
levels a conceptual synthesis which is both his personal language and his
formal manifestation. Invisible, 168-page volume with over 100
photographs, is the result of a careful exploration of the archives of
the artist, who has brought to light unpublished photographs, ranging from research
more experimental to the freest manifestations of his subjectivity, without
neglecting the iconic images that made their author famous in
the whole world. This album, composed with particular care, is aimed at those
who wish to have an overview of the author's career, but also
explore this inner space, beyond reality, devoted to interpretation
suggestive, in search of the image in the making, that only visual sensitivity
the photographer knows how to collect and translate into a unique and inimitable shot,
so that the invisible suddenly becomes visible.
