Jim from Etterbeek
Jim d'Etterbeek brings together boards drawn between 1989 and 2012 by Chaim
Kaliski. This first volume of Kaliski's work constitutes the part
autobiographical, the common thread of Kaliski's work, the story of
the hidden child in Brussels, told in depth through the evocation of the “years
“black” in the streets of Brussels. Etterbeek is one of the 19 municipalities of
Brussels, but Kaliski's chronicle, which extends from the twenties to
the post-war period, explores the other municipalities of Brussels: Anderlecht,
Schaerbeek, Saint-Gilles, Ixelles... Some episodes are more
developed, such as the roundup of September 3, 1942, and some figures are
recurring, like the “traitor” Jacques Mousso.
