Kilomotor

After staying (a little too) far away from comics for years, Helge Reumann is now publishing books regularly at Atrabile notable: Black Medicine Book in 2017, SUV in 2019, Total Resistance in 2021, and here comes his sound like a cannonball filled with acid new book, Kilmotor. In his books as in other mediums (paintings, installations), H. Reumann has built with great consistency a work of a great coherence, dark, violent, but not devoid of humor, presenting a world populated by dripping creatures, rival gangs adept at fighting, of mysterious gnomes and other nightmare visions, but always executed with the greatest rigor. Kilmotor, his new book, is a bit like the sum of his work and its universe, a comic book also dotted with painting and illustrations, a book crossed by crazy hallucinations and striking, and which quotes both Carl Barks and Max Weber!
