Sean is a man who lives simply and consciously in tune with nature in
the Canadian Rockies. He consumes little and enjoys the beauty every day
places, daily tasks punctuate his winter days. Far from the
artificial pleasures of industrial civilization, Sean cultivates his own
asceticism, based on a “happy sobriety”. Ignoring the rules of our
new world, its way of life remains traditional but much healthier and more modern
than most of his contemporaries who are trying to find a way to
to heal. Thomas Gauthier shows a raw world, without embellishment, like his subject,
the photographer questions our relationship with the environment, our way of life
and to think.
