La nuit est une femme à barbe presents a new series of works in which Éric Croes reveals the full extent of his imagination and technical prowess. Golems, devils, centaurs, bearded women and other mythical and hybrid figures populate the artist's universe and remind us that mystery always has several facets. Using black or red clay, Croes plays with contrasting glazes to create fantastic and often erotic creatures, which unite, love and desire each other, copulate or cohabit, highlighting their complexity, oscillating between pleasure and sin.
