The Dansker Trilogy
The Dansker Trilogy
Inspired by the life of the author's father in the 60s-90s, The Trilogy
Dansker, bringing together the three volumes Deserter, Cockroach and Dansker, tells the story
the story of a man of Turkish origin with a hazardous destiny, guided too often
by bad choices.
While still tempestuous and rebellious, Halfdan Pisket's father
finds himself in prison for desertion, suffering torture and seizures
epilepsy where memories of his native village are mixed.
Freed from these much-feared prisons, he hastened to flee Turkey for
far away Denmark, in order to forget a past that was too painful. But earning a living
honestly in a foreign country becomes very complicated for an immigrant who
faces administrative and financial difficulties and ambient racism. Having
contracted debts that he cannot repay, he gradually sinks into
in drug trafficking and crime...
