Transcript of four lectures given in Leipzig in 2010 about a
work by Olaf Nicolai installed in public space in Paris in 1998, this work
explores the theme of the labyrinth and its various manifestations and
associations, from the Minotaur to geographical maps and notices
Ikea.

In 1998, Olaf Nicolai uses the employees' green plastic brooms
Parisian municipal authorities to build a labyrinth as part of the exhibition
"Art Grandeur Nature" at the Parc de La Courneuve (Paris Saint-Denis). Taking
for the purpose of this installation, the work explores and associates a wide range of
topics related to the theme of the labyrinth, while constituting a reference system
for Nicolai's work. The book is attached, inserted in a cover
plastic covering the book, a map showing the different places and
monuments visited by Olaf Nicolai during his Parisian drift.
