The art of design
The art of design
In this book, Bruno Munari destroys the myth of the star artist and
replaces the designer's character.
This collection of short texts, accompanied by sketches and illustrations, presents
the various design specializations: visual design, industrial design,
graphic design and research design.
With his caustic pen, the author engages in merciless criticism of the
creation of his time, too static and too complex. He calls for his wishes
forms in movement, in transformation and advocates simplicity and
balance, thus claiming Asian aesthetics.
In these texts collected in the 1960s, Munari announces the developments
which we can witness today. Those which lead to bridges
between art and design, and which highlight a moving, generative creation
and constantly evolving.
