The Least Breath
The Least Breath
The Least Breath - Inspired by Ovid's Metamorphoses, an album in which the
photographer connects the animal, plant, mineral and human worlds in
a kind of cosmogony highlighting the interweaving of the elements of life
with each other, their relationship to the whole and their interactions. \n \nSandra
Rocha was inspired by Ovid's Metamorphoses to design and bring together the
photographs in this book. Where the classic author reports on all the
myths where human or divine beings metamorphose into other beings of the
nature, Sandra Rocha directly takes hold of the animal, plant and mineral worlds
to connect them in a kind of cosmogony. Human presence is
finds itself taken at the same level as all the other elements making up our
world. Sandra Rocha photographically questions what a philosopher like
Emanuele Coccia was able to develop in his latest works: how the
elements of life can interact with each other while being
intrinsically linked to the whole. A kind of Eden found that the photographer
reinvents in The least breath; text “The shape of things / The shape of
things” by João Pinharanda, color photos.
