The Sun of the Magi - Old Edition
Sarmoumane, the sorcerer, has gone completely crazy. Goudalf, his friend, is
certain that the magic ring held by the innocent Prodon is the cause of his
slow path to madness. So he gathers a team of followers to destroy
this cursed ring by melting it in the lava of Mourdor. Prodon is
charged with carrying the ring, because his candor and kindness protect him from the
power of influence that it exerts on living beings. However, it has already
perverted one of his peers, Gouloum. Goudalf accompanied by Prodon, Samouel,
Aragornna and Yegolas begin a journey by car, train and on foot to the
Mourdor volcano. The little group hopes that by leaving on Friday evening, they
will be back to enjoy their Sunday before going back to work
Monday morning. If it takes the form of a road trip, nonchalant and good-natured, the
Mortis Ghost's new book, after the Dr Cataclysm cycle, obviously evokes
a well-known fantasy story. But if the author relies on an epic
world famous, it is to dispossess it of its epic charge, and bring back
heroic fantasy on the ground. The Sun of the Magi tells how
A walk turns into a bit of a hassle, but not too much. Here we are
more in a reluctantly accepted team-building weekend and in the wrong
mood, than in a fearless quest against the forces of evil. The drawing of
Mortis Ghost, round and jubilant, allows to preserve the universe of the Sun of
mages in the register of the fantastic, and gives a captivating fluidity to this
a much darker story, and ultimately much more realistic, than it seems at first glance.
