CRIMES OF PASSION DO NOT EXIST
CRIMES OF PASSION DO NOT EXIST
The photographic work, “I would like you to see me” by Arianna
Sanesi, in 2015, on femicide in Italy, when this term was
virtually unknown and the phenomenon was largely ignored by the media,
is the starting point of this book and of the encounter between the photographs
by Arianna and the text by historians Lydie Bodiou and Frédéric Chauvaud. Their
dialogue creates essential insight for anyone who wants to understand how the
words and images offer new perspectives on one of the problems
the most important of our time: femicide and domestic violence.
