LUNARIO GUIDO GUIDI
LUNARIO GUIDO GUIDI
A project spanning several decades, Guido Guidi's Lunario is named after a
traditional almanac and presents several works all related to the moon. The
Distortion, experimentation and illusion are the basis of the works
Guidi's previous works in the late 1960s and early 1970s,
further explored with the fish-eye lens. The physical aspect of the moon
resonates throughout the work: in the face of a woman or in a child
playing with a ball caught between light and shadow. In the 1980s,
Guidi's arid lunar landscapes give way to photographs in
color, all of which culminate in the dramatic partial solar eclipse of
August 11, 1999. Throughout Lunario, Guido Guidi evokes the moon as a source
stylistically and thematically inspired: a symbol of melancholy, madness and
of change while constantly reminding us of the ephemeral side of everyday life.
