MONUMENTO is the second book dedicated to the work of Alexandre da Cunha. Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1969, the artist is based in London and Sao Paulo. His practice has been largely devoted to sculpture, based on ideas of readymades and found objects, which he re-signifies, inviting viewers to see them through a new lens. In recent years, Da Cunha has taken these ideas to a monumental scale, commissioning site-specific works in cities such as Boston, London, and São Paulo. These large-scale installations form the core of MONUMENTO.
