MY BLOODY VALENTINE, “LOVELESS”
MY BLOODY VALENTINE, “LOVELESS”
Fans of My Bloody Valentine found the time between their premiere long
listening to Isn't Anything and the release of Loveless, in 1991. From studio to studio,
Kevin Shields and his band took two years to shape the album that would mark
of its hazy guitars and distant vocals the early 1990s and
which continues to haunt any distortion lover. In the footsteps of the Velvet
Underground, Heldon or Suicide, My Boody Valentine gave birth with an art
which belongs only to him, and which we will copy, from the soundtrack of his wanderings
and his doubts. So much so that the influence of Loveless will have on the group a
paralyzing effect: twenty years will pass before he records a "new"
album. Enough time to question the nature of this disenchantment which threatens
every true creator – that is to say: often restless.
