  • Otti Berger Weaving for Modernist Architecture - Key Member of the Textile Workshop Bauhaus, Otti Berger was also an entrepreneur in frenetic Berlin from the 1930s. In close collaboration with architects from the New Objectivity like Lilly Reich, Ludwig Hilberseimer and Hans Scharoun, she has designed upholstery and wall hangings, curtains and floor coverings, rethinking the relationship between form and function. To date, Otti Berger's textile work has only been partially explored. This book is the first complete study on her; it notably contains her unpublished treatise on textiles and textile production methodology. Organized by fabric fabric, depending on the use of each, this work offers a perspective completely new on the work of Otti Berger and underlines the artisanal and entrepreneurial in his work.
