  • The fifth issue of the annual magazine combining graphics, publishing and architecture questions these disciplines through the theme of obsession (with Marlène Huissoud, Yves Dreier & Eik Frenzel, Mathieu Glissant, Didier Fiúza Faustino, Thibault Chalamet, Nicolas Dorval-Bory, Christian Lacroix, Ronan Bouroullec, Pierre Charpin, Nathalie Du Pasquier...). After having questioned the Matter(s) in its previous issue, Pli is interested this year in the theme of Obsession. A special year since this is already the fifth opus. Five years during which more than two hundred architects, designers and artists took part in the game of publication. Around central questions dealing with architecture, publishing and design, we collectively restore the work of a year of research. On this occasion, the authors and guests all dared introspection, or even questioning their means of expression. Psychic or physical, material or invisible, scientific or fantasized, singular, transversal and sometimes methodological, the obsession is omnipresent in their creative processes. Each person expresses their values, their point of view and reveals his intimacy by contributing to this common project. Far from being fixed and determined, the obsession extends beyond a symptom restrictive, absurd and difficult to eradicate and leads us to question the harmful nature of these neuroses (ideas, images or sensations). Obsession could be defined as a manipulation of language, forms, concepts, but also as a manipulation of the final perception of a together. Sixteen authors and eight guests are applying themselves this year to analyzing this what this concept represents for them. They are accompanied by eight illustrators, artists and visual artists.
