R&B arrived in France in the early 1990s and even if TV, the media and

but French R&B as a genre in its own right, which owes its
originality in the way it was formed through back and forth between
North America, Europe, the Caribbean and Africa. Based on the word
of the main actresses and actors of this movement (from N-Groove to Matt
Houston), she offers an ambitious cultural history. Her passion for
French R&B songs constantly cross the analysis of their dimension
politics: it examines both their way of assuming sexuality and their
injunctions to modesty, commercial formatting strategies that the affirmation
of a black sisterhood in the clips.
