  • Nestled in the heart of the mountains, the Fahrenbühl residence offers artists all disciplines a bucolic and inspiring setting to develop in complete serenity their artistic project. This year, two artist mice were chosen to participate in the residency program. Except that the program in question is not very exciting. There is nothing to do except snowmen snow, ice skating on the lake, going to see the cows and walking in the evening deep in the sticks. If for the first mouse, this encounter is the birth of a new strong friendship, for the second mouse, it goes otherwise. She feels isolated in the middle of nowhere, in this countryside cold and sad where she can't find inspiration. She turns into round like a hamster in its wheel and depressed. The first mouse that would like that this residence lasts forever with his new best friend will do everything to prevent him from leaving until he harms him. After SCHAPPI and his political-animal fables, Anna Haifisch returns to her favorite theme: the artist. In this new pocket-sized book, she describes the residency artistic of two mice (one a painter and the other a comic book author). She depicts doubts and questions about the usefulness of art that run through the artists, their place in society. But it is also a story of friendship where possessive jealousy can lead to absurd acts that can turn out to be dangerous. Started in the fall of 2020 during an artist residency in the city of Columbus, Ohio, Anna Haifisch is forced to abort the project because of the pandemic. It is at home in Leipzig that she will continue and finish this book, in the anxious and oppressive atmosphere of the second lockdown which has influenced the atmosphere and direction of the story.
