Sylvie Fleury - Bedroom Ensemble II

Sylvie Fleury's installation Bedroom Ensemble II is composed of furniture domestic where all the furniture has been covered in fake fur, a material, recurring in the artist's work. But above all it pays homage to an artist who also elevated the prosaism of trivial objects to the rank of monumental sculpture: in 1963, Claes Oldenburg reconstituted, under this same title, bedrooms whose perspectives he distorted to accentuate the depth effect and derealize them. This work is the first overall study of this installation but also attempts to situate it in relation to other works owned by MAMCO.
