SYRIA - ONE PILLOW FOR HEAVEN AND EARTH
Considered one of the greatest living poets, Adonis, born on January 1st,
1930 in Qassabine in the North of Syria, obtained Lebanese nationality in 1962
after being imprisoned for his membership in the Syrian Nationalist Party.
Founder of several poetry magazines where he translated Baudelaire, Henri into Arabic
Michaux, Saint-John Perse, he seeks the renewal of Arabic poetry
contemporary. After the Lebanese civil war, he settled in Paris in 1985.
The wonderful poems that accompany Fadi's photos of Syria, a country
martyred by an endless war, are a hymn to life.
