The Paper is Patient
Invaluable testimony on the deportation and holocaust of the Roma during the
World War II, the work of Ceija Stojka (1933-2013) is presented for
the first time in its double dimension of graphic and poetic work. In
this work, the back of her works, where she describes and testifies through writing,
is presented on an equal footing with his drawings and paintings. The particular language of
Ceija Stojka, expressive and almost phonetic, is transcribed into German and
translated into English.
Published on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition at the Malmö Konsthall in 2021.
