  • THE SNIPER PAUSED SO HE COULD WIPE HIS BROW - Sean Lotman, an artist originally from Los Angeles, moved to Kyoto in 2003 after living for some time in Tokyo.

    \n

He draws his inspiration from narrative fiction and Technicolor films from the 1930s and 1950s, in which the colours appear unreal.

    \n

The very particular, sometimes psychedelic atmosphere of his images is linked to the dodge and burn technique (which consists of lightening and darkening different areas of the image).

    \n

The artist develops his own images in the darkroom, experimenting to the extreme to imprint his own subjective reality on his photographs.

    \n

The Sniper Paused So He Could Wipe His Brow is a collection of 96 Diana camera images and 20 short poems. The story spans 15 years of travel.
