  • There Is Hope But Not For Us - Inspired by a quote from Franz Kafka, this book is a palimpsest, a kind of colorful fiction composed of later images that are superimposed on old, erased memories. With a mix of collages made by Vincent Delbrouck, erotic and vintage photographs and images are superimposed on the pages of an old cactus book. \n \nHelen is a recurring character in the images and collages of the book. Former wife of the artist, Helen left him two months after the last images of her were taken in Spain, last winter. \n \nThere Is Hope But Not For Us exists as a living and vibrant process: the contemplation of a period and the search for experimentation in the chaos of the studio. The images spread everywhere. The images are funny, colorful and crazy, and at the same time nostalgic. A kind of imaginary diary, created in the absence of hope but open to new desires.
