Time on Quaaludes and Red Wine
Anna Galí's project is a tribute to her son Tomeu, who died at the age of
eighteen years old, following an overdose. Using various sources –
family archives, digital appropriation, personal documents – the
photographer addresses questions of the construction of identity, relationships
family or friends, addictions and their terrible secrets. The
publication sensitively bears witness to a family tragedy and highlights
highlights the process of maternal mourning; the title “Time on Quaaludes and Red
Wine" is a reference to David Bowie, the late son's idol.
