Tomoya Fujimoto- Nothing but the Sea (Second Edition)
Tomoya Fujimoto- Nothing but the Sea (Second Edition)
This title was nominated for the Author's Book Prize at the Rencontres de la
photography of Arles 2022. The sea, nothing but the sea, the sea of wind, the rippled sea
who is hurrying... This publication is an opportunity to highlight the
marine phenomenon of “laughter” and the different surface states of the sea formed
by the wind in the gusts. Behind these radical photographs, the artist
Franco-Japanese Tomoya Fujimoto presents a work on light,
movement, appearance and disappearance. On how phenomena
natural ones manifest themselves to us. In the low light of dusk, the
contrasts become more violent, the whites saturate, the blacks too.
images, very pictorial, touch on abstraction, going so far as to evoke
sometimes mineral or vegetable. The very unique binding of the work evokes
the expanse of the horizon, where limits are abolished. By its visual force,
The sea alone invites you to contemplate both the power and the elegance of the
sea.
