A Chinese raw art
A Chinese raw art
Chen Chao-Pao's work represents an interesting and unique form of
cultural syncretism. The history of Taiwan, where he was born, contributes to this mix
formal identities, techniques and heritages that he experiments with throughout
throughout his life. Copying is part of Chinese culture taught by
treatises since the 6th century, he reinterprets entire episodes of the
Buddhism, in the light of Dubuffet, of whom he is a fervent admirer.
