Zoo-Morph 1

Zoo-morph #1 - Images from Batia Suter's ongoing Zoo-morph series. It is an investigation into the material form and thematic approach of animal sculptures throughout art history. Based on a vast collection of ancient reproductions - a cross-section of so-called "popular" and "elitist" cultures - the fragments are extended and confronted through superposition and digital adaptation. The animal becomes an instrument, a means of transport to share a more or less unconscious and symbolic vision of art history. \n \nEdition published on the occasion of the artist's participation in the 4X3 project
