Flux 1 – FLUX I is the first chapter of Erwan Frotin’s new series of photographs: a singular travel book, a new kind of atlas. His archives of places, phenomena and organisms, collected during ten years, constitute a real evolutionary encyclopedia. His fragments of nature show the forms of the living, as many signs, wonders and questions, all animated by the same breath. Captured in Hawaii, Costa Rica, the Philippines and Antarctica, Erwan Frotin’s photographs are part of a universal imagination. At the border between documentary and fiction, the Franco-Swiss photographer develops a sculptural approach of bodies in continuous metamorphosis. His poetic interpretation of nature stimulates the observation of our own world by making us discover an unexplored part of our reality.

Erwan Frotin is a French-Swiss photographer, born in the south of France in 1978. Since 2008, Erwan Frotin has been conducting an intuitive and protean experiment to document rare organisms and natural forms. His work reveals a nebulous, primal and sensory story through a work that invites us to understand being and unity.

FLUX 1 includes short texts written by personalities from various backgrounds: literature, poetry, art history.
