Minor Mysteries – Minor Mysteries – Inspired by legendary street photographers, Hans van der Meer moved to Budapest in the autumn of 1984. Minor Mysteries reflects what fascinated van der Meer as a curious young foreigner in a country that, at first glance, seemed alienating and distant. Without a preconceived plan, he let himself be guided by his intuition, roaming the streets like a director gathering scenes for a screenplay. This is how he came across some wonderful, playful and sometimes tragicomic situations. In retrospect, the series stands as a monument to an era in transition. An era that is coming to an end, in a city at the heart of Europe that seems battered by the weight of history, but with the hope of something new.
