Waiting for Midnight

Waiting for Midnight – Bharat Sikka explores his village in Goa, Salvodor du Mundo, where the mundane and the mysterious meet. The photographs in Waiting for Midnight – which takes its title from the name of a poem by the artist’s daughters – are a culmination of what has been seen, felt and experienced over the past 15 years. The Polaroids create a nostalgic memory, blurring the line between past and present. The work was created on the eve of 2020, in anticipation of the new year, in anticipation of midnight.
