Namur – With NAMUR, Pierre Rahier exposes himself to the streets of a city he holds dear. Here, his will is guided by the chance encounters that catch his eye. There’s another kind of openness to otherness. There’s a curiosity in pausing between the wrinkles of faces, between imperceptible stories, between sensations that announce themselves. What is Namur? Who are these people who cross my path? They are part of my existence for a moment. Another memory, another desire, another moment, but this time it’s more troubling. The diversity that becomes unease enters us and manifests itself in a spectacle that emerges freely before our eyes. While everything passes quickly and unceasingly, I feel the illusion that something remains. Pierre’s precious visual harvests over many years speak of cautious patience, prolonged waiting, learning and slow maturation. They are visions carefully selected with the awareness that not everything in life can be preserved.
