Non Fiction – The premise is simple: how can we photograph the world as it appears to us, through chance encounters and by returning to the sites of news stories in local newspapers to create a series that resembles fiction? By combining a documentary approach with one of invention, Non Fiction creates a tension that is pushed to its extreme by a multitude of visual strategies, deployed to blur the lines. Images accumulate and blend to give life to a fluid, multiform narrative. It’s up to each and every one of us to interpret and make sense of it. LEveryday life is transformed: every window hides secrets, every person becomes a character; every object becomes a clue or a potential piece of evidence. Everything is true, everything is false, but one thing is certain: truth is at least as strange as fiction. The “Non Fiction” series was awarded the Prix Maison Blanche 2023 by the Photo Marseille festival.
