Prison Art

Prison Art by Kei and MC Pancho is a collection of Mexican/Chicano style illustrations by prisoners, mostly in prisons on the west coast of the USA. Mc Pancho is a pioneer Chicano rapper who has been on the Chicago scene since the 1980s. The book represents a collection of illustrations, chosen with care. From numerous authors in prison during several years, there are hidden sentiments behind each image. Some people think of their friends, others think of their lovers. In a situation far from freedom, each work contains the message of a human inside of the prison system.
