Sexe et liberté – “Sexual liberalism has clearly not opened the doors to nirvana.” This is how American journalist, activist and essayist Ellen Willis expresses one of her main disappointments, without laying down her arms. Drawing on her intimate experience and clarifying her positions within radical feminism, Willis proposes to think about sexual liberation along with a critique of male domination. Since the emergence of this feminism in the late 1960s and throughout its turbulent history, she has constantly questioned its principles, methods and issues.
