Uncertain Souvenirs

Uncertain Souvenirs – Time changes what we remember. It blurs contours and fades details – sometimes unreliable, misleading, even contradictory. They float between imagination and reality.To preserve these memories, we tend to link them to something, sometimes by accident, sometimes intentionally. Objects, places, habits, words, situations, colors, smells and so on. Photographer Tobias Bärmann captures some of these fleeting moments with his camera, seeking to preserve these little stories as lasting memories. To this end, he explores the city of Los Angeles with a keen eye for his surroundings, balancing on the fine line between personal memories and those of others.
