In 2023, during an artist residency in Japan, Pierre & Florent travel to Hiroshima. Upon exiting the train station, they are struck by a profound vision: a blue sky, immaculate and almost unnervingly intense. From this formative moment emerges a series of skyward images featuring passersby, airplanes, and flowers from the Hiroshima Memorial. The project expands to include hand-stitched embroideries on indigo fabrics collected locally. On these textiles, the artists inscribe messages and archival excerpts — documentary echoes of that singular, almost unsettling sky.
