Gypsy Witches

"Legend has it that is the gypsies come from Agartha, an underground, magical and inaccessible region deep within the earth. They returned to this world possessing the mystery of omens according to cards, magical knowledge of herbs and palmisttry. I crossed the whole of Romania by train to the Moldavian border in search of the knowledge of occult science. This book is the fruit of that search. It was the witches who showed me that I had indeed embarked on a journey into the magic that exists in each of us." Silvia Silvia Prió est originaire de Barcelone, elle est titulaire d'un baccalauréat de l'Université de Barcelone, d'une mention d'honneur au niveau supérieur de photographie artistique et d'un titre en cinéma documentaire de l'Université des Îles Baléares. Son travail artistique est centré sur la photographie, la vidéo-création et le cinéma documentaire. Certains des thèmes qu'elle développe sont le passage du temps, l'enfance, les portraits et les relations humaines (comme la migration et l'ethnie gitane) en utilisant le langage de la photographie et du cinéma documentaire. Elle a exposé son travail et participé à différents festivals de photographie et de cinéma à Madrid, Barcelone, Tenerife, Portugal, Argentine, Pologne, Luxembourg et Canada. Fflac Festival Madrid, Palucine Barcelona, Mendoc Argentina, Lux Luxembourg, Encontros da Imagen Braga-Portugal, Emergent Lleida, Getxophoto Bilbao, Palmaphoto Mallorca, Caf Centro andaluz de la Fotografía, GYF, Festival Bang, Festival Fotonoviembre Tenerife, Descubrimientos PHE PhotoEspaña, Imaginária Festival, Photon Eslovenia et Vienna sont certains d'entre eux. Elle a été primée au Pa-ta-ta Festival Granada 2017, Michael Horbach Mallorca 2020 et VisualKorner Barcelona 2022.
