0´THEE LIL’ 0-Intense! After months of exchanges with David Douard involving scanners, plaster balls, zines, digital files and non-conforming typefaces, 0’THEE LIL’ 0 is here.
Developed in close collaboration with the artist, and carefully designed by Laure Giletti, 0’THEE LIL’ 0 revisits the whole of David Douard’s practice, highlighting its singularity and coherence. Photographs of works, exhibitions and workshops are interwoven throughout the pages, weaving together metal sculptures, blown glass, silkscreens and environments proliferating with cables, melancholy masks, grotesque mouths and plant fragments. The book also includes photocopied collages of the artist’s own drawings and found images. A montage of bodies, words and forms, the flow of the book extends DD’s experiments, which, by materializing voices and affects, make visible the energies that resist the destruction of the world.
The book brings together essays by Maurin Dietrich (Kunstverein Munich), Rebecca Lamarche-Vadel (Lafayette Anticipations), Romain Noël, and Arnisa Zeqo, who revisit the links between David Douard’s practice and language, energy flows, the metaphysics of youth, poetry, the dark side of digital, rumor and the path of the negative..
